Local charity warns that dog abandonment is still a serious issue in Northern Ireland

“We don’t see a year it’s not decreasing”



In the year 2018, there were over 55,000 stray dogs across the UK according to the Dogs Trust’s Stray Dogs Survey report, and around 300 stray dogs put down in Northern Ireland according to the Department of Agriculture. 

The Causeway Coast Dog Rescue is a local charity that rescues and rehomes dogs. By working with schools to government departments, the charity hopes to raise awareness on the serious issue of dog abandonment.
